I used to farm the first wave of Glint's Challenge as an Obsidian Flesh Elementalist for Destroyer Cores, golds, and festival drops. Now it seems that the Destroyers of Souls' Vengeful Weapon has been amped up, and it kills me when I try the farm in Hard Mode (not sure if it affects NM).

Is there a way around this without changing class? I only have the one character with access to the CTC.

From memory i cant recall a change in glints challenge - infact i cant even recall a buff/nerf to VW.Only thing i do recall was anet ages ago fixing their regen which killed the w/rt glint farms.
Sliver got fixed if thats what your using - it randomly picks targets instead of sticking on 1 till death.

That's part of it, but that can't be the only thing that changed. I noticed that right away the first time I tried farming Glint's a few days ago, and simply backed up until there were only 1 or 2 Destroyers in range of the spell. So that doesn't really affect anything.

What's killing me is being hit by 7 or 8 Vengeful Weapons very quickly without having time to recover my health via Aura of Restoration and natural regen. That definitely didn't happen before, since you know, I didn't die.

It may be the sliver thats doing it - before if i recall right ( only did it a few times on ele an switched to r/a ages ago ) sliver may have killed the rit foes faster than they could cast vw where now if they cast vw together you would get an increase in hp steal as sliver targeting bounces about.Thinking also by uriels hammer was nerfed and changed to a res skill.

Switch to E/R, use Storm Chaser instead of mantra of earth, and put in Edge of Extinction with your sliver armor. Ball them, use radiation field to reduce their health below 90%, then cast Sliver Armor and use EoE while it's damaging them. You'll get hit with the occasional VW but as soon as the first one dies the rest will go too.

I haven't tested this in hard mode, only normal mode, but there's no reason it shouldn't work.

Normal mode is good enough for event drops. Thanks for the tip, I'll try that out.
